Yes, I'm afraid it's come to this. But I've got some old stuff that's just sitting around and I need some money. I'm going to go through next time I'm in the vicinity of my long boxes and pick out what I can part with.
And here's a sub-question: If I do decide to sell them, what's the best venue? I'm thinking some bulk sales on eBay, but is there maybe a more appropriate way to get rid of some old and mostly unnotable issues of Amazing Spider-Man?

Is there a difference between a comic and a graphic novel? As far as the way the story is told, no. Basically, the only difference is the format. Comic books are serialized -- each specific issue is usually a part of a larger story. A graphic novel tell one cohesive story (and is usually much longer than a regular comic book issue). You can essentially think of a comic book as one episode of a TV series and a graphic novel as a standalone film. That's more or less the difference.

NO
Under no circumstance. One day in the future you'll be reading a comic, and you'll be all like, "Hey, didn't that happen that one time in that one Thor comic?", and then you'll look for validation, and your comic will be GONE.
Also, selling Thor comics will make Saylor cry.
