i saw crash over the weekend. it provides a somewhat biting commentary on racism in Los Angeles [and probably a lot of other places]. the cast did a great job of creating believable characters [which is saying a lot as it starred Ludacris, Sandra Bullock, and Brendan Frasier among others] and it was an intense movie overall. i'm very glad i saw it, even tho it's not fun or uplifting. what i really liked was that it doesn't force a message on the viewer and all of the characters are morally ambiguous, so there really is no good guy.
in short, yet another movie i would recommend

The problem is, I can't disassociate it in my mind from the David Cronenberg movie of the same name. The Cronenberg Crash is about a group of people who gain sexual arousal from car crashes.

haha, there is very very little sexual arousal in this film-- wait, you do get to see a boobie, which somehow Marc claims he didn't see, so i suppose there is a little arousal, oh and don cheadle nekkid, but not enough for me to call the film "sexy"-- so just go back to the old way of thinking: crash=usually painful and unpleasant, generally unexpected as well

Unfortunately I have seen the porno known as Crash. Did you know that the DVD lets you choose between the rated R and NC-17 versions of that movie? Now, really, if you're given that choice... who chooses R? NOBODY. But in retrospect it would have been a fine choice.
