well, the movie was flawed in several parts, and the spear being mexico was for sure one of them-- especially saying that it went missing after ww2, was that fought anywhere near mexico? i am bad at history.
the other part i didn't really understand was why the detective girl was suddenly willing to embrace her "gift" and suddenly felt guilty for abandoning her sister... i dunno, i just thought it should have taken more time and a little more pain for that to come around.
and what about the kid, the taxi driver, they just kind of put him in there every now and then for comic relief and then killed him off without a second thought...
but you know, most movies have flaws, i found several in the aviator, too. you just gotta look at it as entertainment and be forgiving of mistakes. or be cynical and angry.

Cynical and angry works best for me. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some puppies that are overdue for a good kicking.

In late 1939, a shadow of evil rose in the Yucatan known as El Hitlero. He tried to take over Mexico, but was thwarted in a luchador match by the legendary wrestler El La Chupacabra. Unfortunately the masked legend was severely wounded, disappearing deep into the hinterlands of the Mexican artic, never to be heard from again.

But then... there rose another! It was never proven, but seeing as how he was born wearing a luchador mask, legend has it that he was the illegitimate son of El La Chupacabra. He called himself El Dorito, and he fought for the Mexican people against the rising evil coalition known as Taco Bell. He lived for many years and fathered many bastard children, and eventually died in his mid 80s when someone dared him to a wrestling match with Gordo de la Crunchya... needless to say, it didn't end well for El Dorito.

Got it. Thanks for filling me in on all of this Mexican history. But it still doesn't explain why the sword of destiny was there?
