You know those elliptical car stickers with only one to three letters on them? First it started with those French Tricolor designs with a black F in the middle; this signified that the owner of the car had been to France. Then other countries started getting in on the act, and there would be white oval stickers on bumbers that said "D", "ITA", "IRE" (Germany, Italy, Ireland) and the like. Anyhow, what's with these MW ones I'm seeing all over the place? They look like this...  I don't have a digital camera, so I just Photoshopped that together. Then I added the anime girl because that's the sort of thing I do. The real issue here isn't what it stands for, really, but rather... can the MW who runs this site sue the maker? I mean, look how similar that is to the site's logo! There's gotta be something he can get from these guys. |

I'd be all up ons for MW trying to sue people, especially since SB and I told him that suing people involves us beating him up and taking all his money. Speaking of, he has some pending suits.

According to this page, a MW car sticker would be from a car that's been to Malawi. Have you really been seeing them all over the place? I didn't know that Malawi was a tourist hot spot. Or that you could drive there. There being in south Africa. |

Here's what I think (and why!)
Malawi and MW should enter into some sort of strategic alliance. With Malawi's thousdands of dollars and MW's fives of dollars, it seems only natural that they should pool their resources.

I'm pretty sure it isn't Malawi, seems unlikely that it would have that many visitors in this area... Though I did come into contact with an RSN one today, and upon closer inspection saw smaller letters near the edge reading "Red Sox Nation".
I assume it's prbably a regional thing like MV ("Martha's Vineyard" ) or BI ("Block Island"), so next time I get the opportunity, I'll try to move in for a better look.

Around here, the stickers I always see on cars say "OBX," which people tell me stands for "Outer Banks."
Frankly, the Outer Banks are about as boring as vacation spots get, so I would be willing to believe that just about everywhere has some kind of new "XTRM!" way of advertising its tourist trade.

Just for a sense of closure, I shold let you all know I found out... It's for "Metro-West Daily News", a local newspaper.
In light of the finding that someone actually made a sticker to put on your car for a newspaper, I'm re-assessing my earlier estimates. Instead of about one in sixty cars, maybe the sticker is actually just on one car that I see thirty times a week.

I too have graphic vinyl wrap on my truck and it looks wonderful. I got it done on my own and some online videos helped me a lot with it. Now I need the personalized trade show displays for a trade expo but I can’t do that myself. So if you have recommendation, please share here! |
